About Parrot

Parrot is free data on mention markets: prediction markets on whether a speaker will say a word (how they work). Kalshi and Polymarket have listed about 5,400 mention events since mid-2024, each with a list of words, on earnings calls, the Fed, the White House, politics, TV, podcasts and sports.

So far Parrot has 91,488 settled word markets from 5,499 events, for 1,135 people, companies and shows, and 11,462 transcripts.

Mission

Democratize data intelligence. The facts behind a mention market are public, but they sit in hours of video, scattered transcripts and venue rulebooks. Parrot puts them on one page and behind one API call, for free.

What you get

Market prices are a secondary layer. They sit behind the Markets switch, which is off by default.

Free

Parrot is free and needs no account. Fair-use limits apply; see API. Free keys raise the limits. You may query Parrot and build tools and agents on it within the rate limits. Parrot's own data (counts, rates, settlement history, probabilities and QA results) is licensed under CC BY 4.0: credit "parrot.markets" with a link. Transcripts, quotes and media are not covered: their rights stay with each source (see Sources).

Who runs it

Parrot is run by Bernard Huang.

People who run Parrot trade on Kalshi and Polymarket, including mention markets. The rules we follow because of that are on Disclosure.
