# Sources and rights

Parrot shows facts about what was said: counts, times, short quotes and links. How much text we show depends on who owns it.

## The rules we apply

- **Public-domain and openly licensed text** (US federal works, UK Hansard under the Open Parliament Licence): full text, with attribution.
- **Everything else:** counts, timings and short quotes of at most 25 words and 200 characters, at most 5 per word page, each with the speaker and date and linked to the appearance it came from, which names and links its source.
- **Audio and video:** we play the source's own upload (a YouTube embed loaded on click, or the publisher's own audio file at the right second, with a link back). We do not host copyrighted media.
- **Agents** get the same: counts, quotes, a source link and clip times. Never audio bytes, and full text only where it is public domain or openly licensed.

Investor conferences behind registration have no public transcript. Their pages say so and link the company's investor-relations page.

## Market data

Market lists, rules and settlements come from the public Kalshi and Polymarket APIs. Each market links to its venue page.

Prices are shown only behind the Markets switch, off by default, attributed to the venue and possibly delayed.

Parrot is not affiliated with Kalshi or Polymarket.

## Icons, logos and photos

Company, team, league and network marks are trademarks of their owners, shown small and unaltered to identify the market's subject. We do not use Olympic or FIFA marks or government seals in lists. People's photos are public-domain or freely licensed images, credited on [Credits](/credits); everyone else gets initials.

## Parrot's own data

Counts, rates, settlement history, probabilities, QA results and metadata are Parrot's work.

They are licensed under [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Credit "parrot.markets" and link the page. Third-party text and media are not covered: their rights stay with each source, under the rules above.
